Welcome to 30

I have officially entered a new decade! My birthday weekend was great. Mom and Dad came for a visit and we all went to Williamsburg for the weekend.

Colonial Williamsburg is literally like stepping back in time. The 300+ acre area is reconstructed to look just like the old English colony. The governor's palace, church, capitol building, shops and homes. It was really neat. Although I think mom and I enjoyed it more than any of the boys.

Don't feel too bad for the boys, though... They got to golf at an amazing course. You'll be really impressed when Zack downloads his pictures so I can post a few.

On Saturday, Braden stayed with his grandparents and Zack and I went to Water Country USA. It was the best place to be in the heat and humidity. We felt like big kids and had a great time.

We stopped at Virginia's oldest plantation, Shirley Plantation, on the way home Sunday. It has been in the same family for 11 generations. We also drove by the site of the first Thanksgiving. I'm still amazed by all the history that is in the area. So Cool!

It was a busy, exhausting weekend for us all. I think Braden wore out Grandma and Grandpa!

Oh and I almost forgot...my sweet hubby gave me the prettiest diamond studs for my birthday. I'm only turning 30 once, after all!

Sprinklers and Proper Manners

Braden got to spend the day at home with his dad yesterday. They ran some errands, and after naptime, they went swimming. Zack said Braden was really upset when they left the pool - after being there an hour and a half. He sure does love the water.

In fact, he even loves the sprinkers. I was about to take him to bed last night when Zack opened the back door. We let Braden go outside for a little while. The sprinkler was on in the backyard and he ran right to it and stood directly over it. He was soaked - clothes and all! I'll try to upload the video when I get home.

Zack has been working with Braden to say please, so when he wanted something last night, Zack didn't give in until he heard the magic word..."peease."

Oh - he got his first busted lip too. Zack said he got a little too rowdy in the shopping card and smashed his lip on the handle at the grocery store. I could see a little red spot from his busted lip. No stitches yet, but he's giving his dad a run for his money in the accident department.

Mr. Handsome

Had to get this picture before church.

Stephanie got Braden this outfit for Easter, but he just now grew into it! Isn't he handsome?

Steph, I keep meaning to tell you that he's started cuddling with the teddy bear you got him too. He even woke up in the middle of the night wanting it a few days ago! It is really cute.

Fetch with Chloe

I was trying to catch a video to show how Braden is running in the yard.
Here is what I got...he's trying to play fetch with Chloe.

Fourth of July

We had a good 4th of July weekend.

On Friday, we went to Lansdowne Resort with the neighbors to see a concert and watch some fireworks. Braden did great - you never would have know it was hours past his bedtime. He was mesmerized by the fireworks. I think it was the first time in days he was quiet and still. He stared at the sky in awe!

Saturday morning we went for a walk, and Braden actually fell asleep in his stroller. I really think it was the first time he's slept in the stroller since he outgrew the carrier. It probably is due to the fact that he was up until 11pm and still woke up bright and early at 6:30.

In the afternoon, Braden's friend, Ryan, came over for a playdate. They mostly play while sitting next to each other, but there were a few times they interacted. Braden tried to pull Ryan down and then felt bad about it and gave him a hug!

Saturday night we watched some fireworks in the neighborhood. Braden was startled by the loud boom everytime they shot one off. He would jump and then giggle because he liked be started. Then, when the firework exploded, he would point and say "oooh." It was very cute!

A Great Day to be Outside

Here are some pictures that I took a couple of weeks ago when Braden was playing outside.
