Halloween

Zack got a Wii for his birthday, and since I won't play with him, he decided to teach Braden how to play...

But we don't want him to become a couch potato, so he's learning to use the push-up bars too.

Fall Getaway

Well, Zack and I were supposed to have a nice getaway to southern Virginia to enjoy some alone time and take in the beautiful fall colors. We rented a cabin in the middle of nowhere, near Luray. Mom came to town to babysit Braden and Chloe while we were gone.

We planned to stay for two nights. The cabin was about 100 yards from the river, which was nice. The fall colors were at peak. We had a fire pit for 'smores and a hot tub on the deck of the cabin.

Unfortunately, everything did not come off as well as planned. The charcoal grill was like a rest stop style picnic area grill. Zack built me a campfire, but before we got to enjoy it for long, he wanted to go inside. He says that he just couldn't stand "not being aware of his surroundings," but I think he's just afraid of the dark! LOL! I wish I had time to tell the whole story because it's really funny. Let's see...there was also a mouse in the cabin, which happened to poop in Zack's shoe overnight. And the bed was SOOOO uncomfortable we thought we might have imprints from the coils on our backs the next morning.

So - we ended up coming home after just one night. But we got to have 'smores (from the campfire we built during the DAY), so I'll say the trip was a success. Here are some pics.
