Afterwards, we went to the hospital to show dad the new "do".

My First Haircut
Braden got his first haircut today. He was very quiet the whole time, and he had that "concerned" expression of his on his face. Here are a couple of "before" shots. I should've taken one from the back so you could see how long it was getting...oh well...too late now!

August Flew By
Wow! It's hard to believe we are already to the end of August. I can't believe how fast the month has flown by. Since my last post, Zack's family has come and gone. David, Janie, and Brenna came to visit the first week of August.
I need to get some pictures of their trip from Janie because once again, I didn't do a very good job of getting the camera. Here are a couple that she took on her phone.
We were lucky that Brenna changed her travel plans at the last minute and flew in a few days early. I was really glad to have the extra time with her. Zack worked for a couple of those days, so it was nice to get some girl time.
While the Belews were here, Fox, Joss & Yankee decided to take our interns to the White House. There was room for us all in the tour, so that was a special treat. I must say it was a little disappointing because we had to look through the doorway at several of the rooms. I would post some pictures, but you know how security is. We were only allowed to take our drivers' licenses with us. My poor mom has been trying to arrange a tour for years, so she was VERY disappointed.
Not much else has happened this month. Just trying not to die of the heat and humidity in these Indian Summers. Braden is lots of fun and learning something new everyday. He's saying some new words, including a few in Spanish. He knows where his eyes and nose are, and he tries to help put on his clothes and shoes, but he isn't quite there yet! He loves airplanes and trucks. He always points out when a plane flies over the house.
The next few months will be hectic, as conference season begins. I'm attending an investment conference in DC at the end of this month and we are going on a managed futures due diligence trip to Pennsylvania a couple of weeks later. I've also been asked to speak on a panel at the big Schwab conference in San Diego in September. I'm hoping to have a chance to meet up with Angela while I'm there. Finally, the Financial Planning Association conference is in Anaheim in October. I'm on the task force which is organizing the "NexGen" portion of that conference, so it will be nice to see the results of our planning.
That's it for now. I know you want some pictures, so here are a few random ones. Enjoy!
